Giving Tuesday on December 3, 2024, is a great opportunity to support campus projects, programs, initiatives and student groups that make life better for students and members of the MSU community.

MSU will join thousands of other organizations across the globe in celebrating Giving Tuesday on December 3, 2024.

Giving days like #GivingTuesday (and Give Green Day, scheduled for March 11, 2025) drive an influx of generosity that has a profound and lasting impact across the MSU campus and beyond.

On Giving Tuesday last year, 1,756 donors supported nearly 500 different programs and colleges, raising $405,621 that had a far-reaching impact for Spartans across campus. Students also got involved on Giving Tuesday, contributing nearly $3,100 to the total raised.

The MSU CrowdPower platform features dozens of fundraising projects seeking support on Giving Tuesday, including these three programs that are improving health, wellness and quality of life for not only MSU students, but the larger Spartan community.

The MSU Student Food Bank serves more than 7,000 each year, including students and their families. Financial gifts are the easiest and most effective way to help the Food Bank fight hunger. A gift of $100 enables the purchase of up to 175 pounds of food and other household goods to add to the food bank’s supply.

The Support Our Spartans (S.O.S.) Student Emergency Needs Fund serves more than 500 students each year, helping them cover unplanned expenses like a plane ticket to attend the funeral of a parent, transportation after an accident totals a car or a hotel stay when a rental home floods. In a moment of unforeseen crisis, the unexpected generosity of fellow Spartans can make an undeniable difference.

The College of Veterinary Medicine’s Lucky Fund provides financial assistance to clients who otherwise could not afford lifesaving treatment for their beloved pets. The Lucky Fund impacts the lives of animals in need every week. Last year, the fund helped more than 100 very grateful pets and their equally grateful human companions.
