Support Essential Needs at MSU

May is Mental Health Month

Mental Health Month is observed in May and raises awareness about the importance of mental well-being and reduces the stigma surrounding mental health issues. During this stage of life, students are faced with new challenges and often feel isolated. These feelings of isolation, and anxiety are exacerbated when students don't know where to turn. Ensuring students have access to quality mental health resources on campus is an important aspect of helping students build a strong sense of self allowing them the succeed in their lives inside and outside the classroom. Join us today and help ensure students can thrive here at MSU.

Support the Counseling and Psychiatric Center (CAPS)

MSU Counseling and Psychiatry Services (CAPS) functions as the primary mental health center for MSU students. CAPS is committed to connecting students to the care they need to be academically successful and healthy, and we do so through the provision of virtual and in-person care.

Claire and Arnold Berkman Fund to Support Student Mental Health Services

This fund was created by Judy Ashley, MSW (Class of 1975) as a way to honor two of her professors who had a significant impact on her experience at MSU. This fund helps to ensure students have ongoing access to mental health services on campus regardless of their financial situation and that their access to support continues as long as it is needed.
