MSU Student Food Bank

Through times of anxiety and need, the MSU Student Food Bank is here to serve our campus community. We serve 7,000-8,000 visitors per year, including students and families, and the fall semester is a particularly busy time for us.

Support from the Spartan alumni, faculty, staff, parents and friends is critical to our success serving all those in need. Financial donations are the easiest and most effective way you can make a difference in fighting food insecurity on campus.

Your Support Makes a Difference

The MSU Student Food Bank is the first food bank for students by students. We have been serving the MSU community for over 30 years and our relationship with the Greater Lansing Food Bank enables us to purchase food at a lower cost, allowing your donations to go much further. With little overhead cost, the food bank is able to make the most of every dollar.

Student standing in window labeled Food Pick UpAll gifts make a BIG impact!

  • A gift of $50 helps us purchase about 88 pounds.
  • A gift of $100 helps us purchase about 175 pounds of food.
  • A gift of $500 helps us purchase about 877 pounds of food.

Any student enrolled at MSU is eligible to use the services of the food bank. We distribute food weekly to those in need. All donations are greatly appreciated so we can continue to serve students and community members in need.

Gifts help ensure that we always have vegetables, fruits, soups, pasta or rice, various proteins, cereal and other household items available for student’s selection once an appointment has been made. Additionally, the food bank almost always has fresh produce, bread, and cheese available to pick up. Thank you for supporting our Spartan community.
