Student studyingHow your support makes a difference

The Spartan Parent Impact Fund directly impacts the student success of undergraduates. From safety on campus to health and wellness and career development, the fund plays a pivotal role in the student experience and educational excellence at Michigan State University. The Parent Impact Fund is a discretionary fund managed by the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Dean of Undergraduate Studies to offer immediate support to students in three key areas:

  • Emergency Scholarship Support – Provides critical assistance for students facing emergencies such as job loss, sudden illness, loss of family members, fire, theft, etc. These funds are allocated to meet student needs in times of crisis. The funds can improve a student’s circumstances while keeping them on track for graduation.
  • Undergraduate Research Support – The MSU Undergraduate Research Office reports that undergraduate researchers experience an increase in self-confidence, develop enhanced analytical skills and improve oral and written communication abilities. They are also more likely to identify a career focus. The Parent Impact Fund aids aspiring researchers aiming to accomplish their goals.
  • Neighborhood Student Success Centers – The Neighborhood Student Success Centers (NSSC) are dedicated to supporting undergraduate student success. This is accomplished by promoting social support networks such as student organizations, advisers, career services, and activities. Connections formed through such networks improve undergraduate graduation rates and help students with institutional navigation. Aid to NSSC efforts ensure that neighborhood support is available for all students across campus.

Whether supporting academic programming, providing critical funding assistance for students facing emergency financial needs, or helping supply students with resources to support virtual learning, gifts to the Spartan Parent Impact Fund directly impact student success outcomes. Gifts from the MSU family truly change lives.

Thank you for being part of our Spartan family and for supporting student health and wellness by making a gift to the Spartan Parent Impact Fund today! More information about ways to support the Spartn family can be found here.
