Michigan State Formula Racing Team

The Michigan State Formula Racing Team proudly represents Michigan State University in Formula SAE - the world's largest collegiate design series. With over 500 teams worldwide from 20 countries and five continents, the competition challenges students to design and build a small, open-wheel race car from the ground up each year. Our organization is extracurricular, student-run, and open to students from all majors and class levels

This year, our team has successfully registered for all three official FSAE Competitions: FSAE Michigan, North and California. These competitions give our team the opportunity to compete against the some of the fastest vehicles in the world, and in turn, the opportunity to show the world what Spartan engineers can achieve.

Funds raised through donations from generous supporters of our team will be allocated towards competition registration fees, travel expenses, and lodging during the week of competition.

FSAE Michigan Registration: $2,350

FSAE North Registration: $1,950

FSAE California Registration: $2,350

For over 30 years, our organization has provided its members the opportunity to apply classroom principles to problem-solving scenarios on a daily basis in a fast-paced work environment. From the early design process to on-track testing and validation, the learning never stops. As a result, experienced members of our team are poised to make an immediate impact in the workforce through their in-depth understanding of technical theory, manufacturing processes, and cost effectiveness.

Who We Are

Our team is composed of 16 team leaders and 35 recruits who all share the same passion for speed. We all strive to make our goal of a first-place finish a reality.
