MANRRS National Career Fair and Training Conference

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) is a national society that welcomes membership/participation from all racial and ethnic groups in agricultural and related sciences. MANRRS members are encouraged to be full participants in other professional societies for their basic disciplinary and career interests. However, MANRRS attempts to provide networks to support professional development of minorities. It is a springboard for their entry into and advancement in careers where they otherwise could be lost in the sheer number and established connections of mainstream participants. For student members, MANRRS provides role models and networking opportunities.

MANRRS also offers students opportunities to enhance leadership, organizational, and public speaking skills, and to experience professional critique of scholarly work in a “user friendly” environment.

Donations will allow students to attend the national MANRRS conference which helps strengthen students professionally by increasing networking, public speaking, and leadership skills. In previous years, members have reflected the impact of attending conferences as they received summer internships, permanent employment offers and graduate school connections. Students are also prepared for the future of industry, research, and academia through workshops, mock interviews, career fairs, and various other activities.

MANRRS StudentYour Support Will Make a Big Difference

The national MANRRS Career and Training conference includes over 50 chapters nationwide, coming together to promote the success of minorities in science. Attendees will have the opportunity to compete in contests such as business pitch and research presentations. By attending and participating in conference events, students will gain valuable educational, networking and professional skills.

Project Budget

Traveling to the national conference will cost approximately $9,440. The approximate costs are below.

  • Air Fare: $4,200
  • Hotel Accomodations: $2,240
  • Registration: $3,000
