The clinics we are planning to offer will allow new 4-H members to participate in livestock 4-H in a controlled environment, whether virtual or in-person, and engage older 4-H members with new content relevant to livestock and agriculture. Some of the clinics we want to offer are: Rabbit/Cavy Showmanship and Selection, Species Specific Animal Nutrition/Feeding Clinics, Species Specific Showmanship, Equine Showmanship/Confirmation/Selection, Basic Equine Care, Buyers Clinic (modern ag marketing, approaching buyers, appropriate professional dress), and Current Issues in Agriculture (current events, debate, global and local issues).
The goal of these clinics are to allow new youth to experience 4-H Livestock with “mentors”, kids who have been in the program for a while, and give older kids engaging experiences with age and level appropriate real-world content.
