MSU Personal Protection Equipment Initiatives

A group of employees with the collection of masks they have made

The MSU Libraries is part of an enormous team at MSU that has come together to produce and distribute 3D printed face shields for frontline workers. This team, which includes MSU Extension, MSU St. Andrews, the School of Packaging, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the College of Engineering, University Outreach and Engagement, Lansing Makers Network, other MSU faculty and staff and Spartan alumni, is using their 3D printers and other equipment to make face shields for frontline workers.

These shared efforts have so far led to over 7,000 assembled face shields, which have been and continue to be distributed to MSU Health Teams, hospitals throughout the greater Lansing and Detroit region, and to other front line workers in our community. Funds contributed here will support the purchase of materials for the creation of these masks, including filament and parts for 3D printers and elastic for the headbands.
