Support the MSU Safe Place Advocacy and Program Fund

MSU Greenline is hosting its triannual Full Court Support event to benefit MSU Safe Place. Since the first Full Court Support in 2012, students have raised over $14,000 for various MSU programs, scholarships, and causes.

We invite you to get involved in our event by participating in our volleyball tournament at IM sports East outdoor sand volleyball courts on August 4th at 5 p.m.. The suggested donations include $5 to play, $2 to watch; however, any and all support is greatly appreciated.

For more information on how you can participate, contact Nikki Hawthorne at hawtho42@msu.edu.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

The MSU Safe Place address the needs of survivors of relationship violence and stalking and their minor children on the Michigan State University campus and in surrounding communities. Survivors of domestic violence and stalking face a myriad of challenges in many aspects of their lives, including, loss of control and personal power, safety concerns, work-related challenges, legal issues, health needs, academic difficulties, and keeping their children safe. Additionally, survivors often face significant financial barriers to meeting their goals.

Your support allows MSU Safe Place to assist survivors with a variety of needs related to helping them to work toward healing and independence, but which are not otherwise funded through other community resources.  Examples of expenses include, changing locks, utility bills, obtaining birth certificates, prescription costs, transportation costs, work uniforms, service of personal protection orders or other legal documents, housing application fees, academic needs, and child-specific necessities.
