The ACCESS Program

The ACCESS (Achieving Culturally Competent Education and Student Success) Program aims to provide educationally and economically vulnerable students with the opportunity to enroll in and complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Many ACCESS students are low-income, first-generation college students. For over 10 years, the ACCESS Program has provided the nursing workforce with culturally competent nurses.

Now More Than Ever, Nursing Needs Your Support

Biweekly sessions include networking, mentoring, and academic support enrichment sessions that support the education of culturally competent nursing students.

The Program Provides Many Resources

Funds raised for the ACCESS Program will provide:

  • Group and one-on-one tutoring for pre-requisite and nursing courses.
  • Eligibility for stipends for tuition support, books, stethoscopes, nursing bags and miscellaneous costs outside of traditional funding.
  • Assessment and preparation for the NCLEX-RN exam.

Solving Inequities in Healthcare

The MSU College of Nursing’s strategic initiative plan to improve diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in healthcare is in full effect. For over 10 years, the ACCESS Program has addressed the growing need for a culturally competent nursing workforce.
