Celebrating 25 Years of the Clara Bell Student-Athlete Academic Center

In 1998, the first stand-alone academic services building for student-athletes in the country was dedicated and opened its doors.  Thanks largely to a lead gift from Steve Smith and named after his mother, The Clara Bell Smith Student-Athlete Academic Center has been the academic hub for MSU student-athletes over the last 25 years.

Throughout this year, MSU Athletics will celebrate the 25^th anniversary of the Smith Center where thousands of student-athletes have elevated academic accomplishments, performed community outreach efforts, and learned personal development skills to pursue their life’s passion.
