Send MSU Men’s Lacrosse to the National Championship Tournament
We are the Michigan State Men’s Lacrosse team and we are a completely self-funded program that competes in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). Our past success includes five straight national tournament appearances. What's more, we just captured a record-setting sixth straight conference championship. Now, our goal is to win the national championship.
The national championship tournament is held in Orange County, California over a weeklong period. With such a large team traveling (34 players and 3 coaches) and staying in a hotel for a week, the travel expenses are quite high for us.
Help MSU Lacrosse Compete for the National Championship
You can help MSU Lacrosse compete in the national championship tournament. The funds raised by this project will allow our team to travel to the competition, have lodging during the event, and pay for meals during the week.
100 percent of the funds raised will go towards paying for hotels and flights for the team. While traveling we sleep four to a room, and two to a bed to help save money. One hotel night at a moderately priced hotel costs the team $2,000! Similarly, a catered nutritious team lunch costs $600, while one dinner costs $1,100. When the team travels by motor coach, the cost is $1,500 per day. Airfare to the national championship costs $24,000!
Who We Are
The Men’s Lacrosse Team travels the country and competes against the best Division 1 teams in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. The Spartans are proud to represent the Green & White but need outside support to keep player dues reasonable (player dues are currently $3,000 per year). The Club wants any Michigan State student with the skills to make the team not be denied because of finances.
