Every year, each gift makes a difference. One person, one contribution at a time. When you give annually you help MSU maintain its historic vision—opening doors to a quality education and fueling the bold drive to find big solutions for Michigan and the world.
Loyalty Levels of giving
These giving levels recognize donors who make giving annually to MSU a priority.
Recognition begins July 1 each year and is based on gifts made during MSU’s previous fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
Spartan Loyal and Spartan Proud donors receive:
- Annual recognition materials
- SPARTAN – Michigan State University Alumni Magazine
- Access to special MSU programming and events
IMPACT OF MSU GIVING
Gifts made at the loyalty levels have far-reaching impact. They give MSU the financial flexibility to respond to what’s needed right now to support student success.
- A $100 gift can: provide text books, supplies, or meals for students struggling to make ends meet.
- A $500 gift can: bring speakers and programs to campus or help support a student in study abroad.
Most importantly, your gifts come together to provide extraordinary impact for current and future Spartans! Here are a few things your gifts achieved recently:
- Jordyn Castor received braille text for her course materials.
- The Emergency Assistance Scholarship fund raised more than $14,000 to help students in need.
- Detroit school kids made music in MSU’s Community Music School.

Sekeita Lewis-Johnson, ’97, gave to support her college through CrowdPower during the pandemic.
Katrina Mashack, ’09, stepped up on Give Green Day to support the AZ Spartans Scholarship.
Jordan George, ’20, was among the first to give to the Food Bank in response to the pandemic.
