Radiology Healing Gardens Infrastructure Improvements
The Department of Radiology Healing Gardens were established in 2000 with waterfalls, a greenhouse, two arbors, and multiple benches. This relaxing area opens the senses of sight, smell, touch, hearing, and even taste. This secret garden on campus has provided a calming respite for medical patients, students and providers as part of the Department of Radiology’s mission to meet the wellness needs of our community.
Due to its current age, the arbors and benches need a spruce up to maintain the integrity of the structures.
Your Support Will Make a Big Difference
This is a restoration project to revitalize the structures of the healing gardens. It will also enable construction of additional measures to protect the pond from people and pets who want to enter the pond itself, which disrupts the ecosystem of the koi fish and causes serious and expensive damage to the pond liner. The beautiful waterfalls depend on the pond liners, filters and pumps to be protected and maintained at the highest standards.
The funds raised from this project will allow the MSU Department of Radiology to bring in local, skilled craftsmen to replace or repair worn components of garden structures. This will preserve the integrity of the garden for years to come. Please consider making a gift today, to allow us to continue meeting the wellness needs of our surrounding community.
Who We Are
As the founding organization, the Department of Radiology is responsible for the management of the Healing Gardens. The primary focus of the department is on education, research and clinical service. As part of our community outreach, a stop in the garden is an opportunity to disconnect and recenter for patients, faculty, staff and visitors. It is inline with our belief in holistic healing.
