RCAH Operation Graduation

Students shake Dean Steve's handShake Dean Steve’s hand…. Smile for the camera…. Don’t trip!

Crossing the Wharton Center stage to receive a diploma might seem easy, but for many students, crossing the stage would be impossible without some form of financial aid. Whether it’s an award from MSU or a scholarship from RCAH itself, most students in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities receive some kind of financial assistance to help pay for college.

We want to see more students cross the Wharton stage to shake Dean Steve’s hand. That’s where you come in. Since the founding of the college in 2007, you have donated generously to a variety of scholarships and awards in RCAH that aid students’ ability to navigate through four years at MSU and make their way across the Wharton stage.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

Consider this from a 2019-2020 scholarship application written by an actual prospective student who wants to attend RCAH:

“I am a gifted student without gifted circumstances… My main obstacle for attending college is the price… There are more affordable colleges that I have been accepted to, but my heart is really set on RCAH. I know that if given the financial support, I will pursue my education as far as possible.”

Your gift of any size can make it easier for students like this to attend RCAH and receive the same life-changing education you received at RCAH or Justin Morrill College. Scholarships empower students to attend—and stay in—RCAH by lightening their financial burden. Scholarships can make a difference in how many hours a student must work to afford their education, whether they can afford textbooks, and if they can consider an education abroad opportunity.

Project Budget

In our “Operation Graduation” campaign, it’s easy to help students enroll in RCAH and ultimately cross the Wharton stage at graduation:

  • The goal for our current RCAH students and RCAH alumni is to raise $1,000 for the RCAH Alumni Scholarship that alumni established during the college’s 10th anniversary celebration. This is enough to provide a one-time scholarship to an incoming RCAH student. We’d love for RCAH parents, faculty, staff, and friends to join in!
  • The goal for Justin Morrill College alumni is to raise $2,000 for the Justin Morrill College Legacy Scholarship—enough to provide 2 one-time scholarships to students with a demonstrated high need for financial support.

RCAH Students working hard to graduate

As a young college without a longstanding alumni base, we have always relied on your generosity to help students graduate with a liberal arts education and make a meaningful difference in the world.

Together, we can make sure that more RCAH students have this opportunity to make their way across the Wharton stage and shake Dean Steve’s hand!
