Support Impact 89FM!
Impact 89FM provides opportunities for all MSU students to learn about broadcasting, journalism, marketing, and much more. Throughout its 35+ year history, the station has expanded the ways it serves the students of Michigan State University and the greater community. Many types of content are broadcast over the FM airwaves, as well as through a significant web presence utilizing social media, website, video and podcasts.
The staff has continued to further their outreach to MSU student organizations and the Greater Lansing community. Student broadcasters are regularly found DJing, broadcasting live or staffing information tables at events hosted on and off campus, including concerts, fairs, conferences, and other celebrations.

Help student journalists learn the skills needed to further their careers and take Impact 89FM to the next level. Staff members have opportunities to attend statewide and national conferences and workshops through Impact 89FM. We would like to offer more of these professional experiences to more of our students. Award-Winning Legacy
Impact 89FM continues to be recognized as one of the top media organizations in the nation. The staff is excited to share that Impact 89FM has been named the 2024 National College Radio Station of the Year in the Pinnacle Awards presented by the College Media Association. This is the radio station’s second time winning the award.
Who We Are
Impact 89FM is one of the largest student organizations on the campus of Michigan State University. It operates as a 24-hour broadcast and online media organization, serving the MSU community and Greater Lansing radio market with the best music, news and sports coverage.
Students run all aspects of the station operations, including teams focusing on music, marketing, visual media, audio production, news, entertainment, and sports.
