Send the MSU NABJ to the 2019 Summer Convention in Miami

The MSU Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) aspires to ensure that every member has multiple internship opportunites during their time at the university and job opportunities for graduating seniors. MSU NABJ works, holds workshops and provides many more opportunities for students at Michigan State to grow and change the world. We work to make all races, especially minorities, feel like they have a space and a family to turn to if no one else has their back.

Through these tasks we hope to secure our members with the skillsets they need to be successful in the real world after college within the field of journalism/media.

Each summer, the national convention is one of the most beneficial events that comes with being a student member of this organization. We prepare our members for this event all year, and the only problems we run into are financial. If given the opportunity to cover registration costs for every member, we can ensure that everyone has a chance to attend the 2019 Summer NABJ Convention.

Your Support Will Make a Huge Difference!

Your support will help every member by relieving the financial burden that so many of us struggle with. Without the financial stresses, each member has the opportunity to really focus on achieving success at the 2019 National Association of Black Journalists Convention.

This project will allow at least 40 MSU students to learn and explore many different outlets of news and journalism. This convention offers networking and other amazing opportunities with some of the best journalists in the country for current students and recent graduates. The career fair gives everyone the chance to network with working professionals and learn more about career opportunities. The conference also includes workshops to teach students skills for appearances on tv, in print, entertainment and so much more.

Project Budget

The goal of $12,000 will cover the $300 registration fee for each MSU NABJ member.

The money that will be raised will be used toward sending our members to the National convention this upcoming summer. Hotel and travel costs will be covered by our members.

This will impact our members in a major way. Current undergraduate students and recent graduates will get the opportunity to network, look for jobs, internships, and go to helpful workshops centered around their interests.

Who We Are

We are the MSU Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Our mission is to provide our members and students with the best opportunities within the realm of journalism through workshops, internship opportunities, scholarships, and job opportunities after college within the media field.

This opportunity will not only help our members to connect with these amazing world renowned companies but will also give them the opportunity to connect with a wide array of journalists just like them. They will not be limited to just broadcast journalists but also print, along with opportunities for people who want to work behind the scenes.
