MSU Sustainability Student Projects Fund

The Campus Sustainability Student Projects Fund (CSSPF) supports selected student-driven, staff-supported sustainability projects across MSU’s campus. Students learn to work with MSU and community partners, fostering their understanding of volunteerism while demonstrating how leadership happens at a local level.

For example, on April 22, in recognition of Earth Day, the Office of Sustainability, W.J. Beal Botanical Garden and Infrastructure Planning and Facilities will be undertaking a project enhancing the pollinator gardens along the Red Cedar River

On Earth Day, students, staff, and community volunteers will assist with invasive species removal, weeding, and laying mulch to create pathways. All materials and costs for this project will be supplied by MSU.

Your Support Makes a Difference!

Donations to the CSSPF support projects like the Red Cedar pollinator garden project on Earth Day, as well as many others. The Campus Sustainability Student Projects Fund has supported the installation of pollinator gardens, tree plantings, renewable energy demonstrations, sustainable art projects, and more.

Through these immersive learning experiences, students develop leadership, collaboration and problem-solving skills that will propel them into their future careers. Your donation will support student-led projects that enhance the Spartan learning experience and better MSU’s campus.

Who We Are

The CSSPF is administered by the MSU Office of Sustainability. The office serves as the central coordinator and convener for the University’s progress in addressing global climate change and sustainable development goals. Its mission is to cultivate and embed sustainability and climate change actions throughout the institution in alignment with its four pillars of success: Campus, Curriculum, Community and Culture.

If you would like to join us on Saturday, April 22, for our pollinator garden Earth Day service project, you can register here!
