Geography Awareness Week: Support our Spartan Geographers

At the Michigan State University Department of Geography, Environment and Spatial Sciences, we are dedicated to understanding our planet’s most pressing challenges and finding innovative solutions to meet our ever-changing needs. Spartan geographers advance knowledge about people and the environment right here in Michigan and across the Earth at scales ranging from your neighborhood to the entire planet. We use and teach cutting-edge approaches, including drones, satellite remote sensing, geographic information systems, and spatial data analytics.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

Your support will impact our ability to recruit, train, and support the next generation of geographers, environmental stewards, and spatial scientists. A gift to the Geography at MSU Fund will give our students the opportunity to learn how geographical knowledge can be applied toward solving our most pressing problems.

Donations to the Geography at MSU Fund enable us to meet the wide variety of needs our students and department experience. These needs span the gamut from helping fund student field experiences and attending professional events to helping us maintain our cutting-edge technology and facilities and providing emergency assistance to students when the unexpected arises.

Project Budget

By donating to the Geography at MSU Fund, you are joining our mission to help students make their mark on the world and help find important solutions to many of the world’s biggest challenges. We all need to work together across boundaries and borders to ensure that everyone, everywhere, experiences healthier communities, a livable climate, and a stronger, more equitable future.
