Spartans Helping the Spartan Community

Fill the Bus is off to a great start, let's keep the momentum going! All donations to the CCEL Fill the Bus Fund help us purchase more supplies for our partner organizations. Give now and help us support more local students!

MSU Center for Community Engaged Learning and MSU Alumni invites you to participate in our 15th Annual “Fill the Bus” event. We strive to give local students and families an equal start to the new school year!

With a continued need for new school supplies, our schools, teachers, parents, and students need our support more than ever before. This year all supplies will be purchased (based on each school district and non-profits need and quantity) and shipped directly to local school districts and non-profit organizations focused on youth mentorship and education. 

Project Budget

Donations to the CCEL Fill the Bus Fund will be divided between our partners, MSU Student Parent Resource Center, The Lansing School District, and East Lansing Public Schools to purchase the supplies requested.

Just $20 is enough to provide notebooks and pencils for an entire class of students! There is no minimum amount required to donate and each donation will make a difference. 

Examples Include:

  • $5 - 3 notebooks and a pack of pens & pencils for a student OR 5 notebooks or 10 packs of markers for the class
  • $10 – 20 packs of colored pencils
  • $20 – Much needed disposable masks and disinfectant wipes OR a kid’s backpack
  • $50 – A brand-new adult-sized backpack

Supply Drop-off Location

If you would rather donate new school supplies (ex. pack of Crayons, Pack of #2 Pencils, pack of markers, notebooks, or folders), you can do so by dropping them off at the Center for Community Engaged Learning located in the Student Services Building, Suite 101.
