EAGLE Student Scholarships

EAGLE stands for Educating Anishinaabe: Giving, Learning, Empowering and is the Native American staff and faculty association at MSU. We have been honoring Native American student leaders with a wool blanket at graduation for over 20 years.

EAGLE Student Scholarships were created to provide students who engage with EAGLE with the opportunity to address financial hardships and provide educational opportunities. Rising costs in tuition and overall inflation have impacted the students’ opportunity to participate in academic related activities where study abroad or conferences for example may not be affordable without a scholarship. Depending on their academic year tuition costs, room & board costs, books, computer costs and the number of credits etc., the price to attend college averages between $30,000-$31,000 —which can be overwhelming! Student debt is gaining national attention as an ongoing issue, where scholarships can be one answer to incurring debt. With your support, the opportunity for a student to receive a scholarship will influence their decision to move forward and continue their academic journey. The scholarship will be a step closer for the student to achieve their academic goals and to graduate.

The impact will allow the student to maximize their college experience, where opportunities such as attending study abroad, going to a national conference to present their research, complete service learning projects, participate in internships in a different state, complete research projects and many more. With your support, your dollars will be invested in students' success and helping provide access to opportunities for growth. Any additional funds raised will be utilized towards our mission statement.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

Support of the EAGLE student scholarships will build community, honor our graduates who have served our community and draw attention to the land upon which Michigan State University rests.
