Demonstration Hall Commemorative Plaza

Historical Demonstration Hall has been a Michigan State University landmark, and the home of MSU Army ROTC for almost a century.

Today, the plaza consists of a beautiful brick and concrete path outside the main entrance of Dem Hall. Two benches flank the plaza entrance from Kalamazoo street, with historical signage detailing the history and importance of Dem Hall.

Give to the Dem Hall Plaza Project and be a part of history.

The Plaza Project continues to offer opportunities to share Spartan Stories and at the same time support the Spartan Battalion and beautify the campus near Dem Hall. We are accepting gifts in support of the plaza project and will place the bricks during the summer months. To secure your brick, please make your gift by May 2024, and direct any questions about your brick engraving to msuarotcalumni@gmail.com.

Gifts of any size will support programing and travel for our student cadets, as well as maintaining the beauty of Demonstration Hall and the plaza. Gifts of $250 and above are eligible to have a brick engraved on the plaza.

  • For a gift of $500+, engrave your message on an 8in. x 8in. brick in the plaza.
  • For a gift of $250-$499, engrave your message on a 4in. x 8in. brick in the plaza.
  • For a gift of $100-$249, receive a special commemorative coin from the Army ROTC Spartans in appreciation of your efforts to help make this dream a reality.

*Once you have made your gift, please fill out the this form for brick personalization.
