Career Services Network – Internship Fund
The MSU Career Services Network Internship Award unlocks opportunity for undergraduate students in all majors pursuing unpaid or low-paid internships. This fund enables Spartans to affordably gain experiential learning opportunities that are integral to helping them develop skills, apply classroom learning, and improve their employability. In addition, this donor-funded program helps develop and prepare talent for small businesses, nonprofits and start-up companies who benefit from our skilled and diverse graduates.
Give to the Internship Opportunity Award Program and help undergraduate students afford integral experiential learning.
Since the fund launched in summer of 2012, more than 550 students have benefitted from the generosity of donors. However, annually we receive nearly four times the applications than we have available awards. The funds students receive help them pay for relocation, temporary living, transportation, and other related expenses. More importantly, these experiences help students explore their career interests, establish career goals, develop their network, build professional skills, and connect learning and classroom activities to work.
Your donation will help the Career Services Network support more life-changing opportunites for MSU students!
Who We Are
The Career Services Network is a campus-wide network of career services professionals co-located within colleges throughout campus. We offer a broad range of support, resources, and services to students, employers, and recent alumni. For students, regardless of major, these services include job and internship search strategies, career advising, career assessment tools, graduate school resources, interview preparation, resume reviews, and career planning assistance. Additionally, we connect employers to Spartan talent through planning and executing numerous career fairs, employer networking events, professional development workshops, industry tours, and on-campus interviews, and we manage thousands of full-time, part-time and internship job postings.
Since last spring and the start of the pandemic, we have increased the scope of available advising appointments by 300% (all virtual), expanded advising hours and international student access, launched a virtual career center, and hosted a record number of virtual career fairs and events to ensure student access to employers. Additionally, we are actively working with employers, alumni, faculty, and staff to source new experiential learning opportunities and projects for students whose internship opportunities have been impacted by the pandemic.
