Help Preserve the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel

Nestled upon the rolling, park-like lawns that slope gently down to the Red Cedar River, stands the picturesque Michigan State University Alumni Memorial Chapel. Thousands of MSU students and alumni have chosen the chapel for their wedding ceremonies since its dedication. At the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel, we treat all ceremonies equally with the same care and reverence, and provide a setting appropriate for any faith. Accessories for various types of worship are available onsite. From weddings to memorial services, vow renewals to special ceremonies, the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel is a beautiful and unique setting. In a normal year, over 160 weddings take place in the chapel, often three ceremonies on Saturdays.

History of the Chapel

The Chapel opened in 1952 and was funded by donations from alumni. The building memorializes 589 Spartans who have died in service to our country. The walls of the Chapel's narthex are engraved with their names spanning more than 144 years. While each name represents an individual sacrifice, collectively, they tell a story of our shared history.
