Alger County 4-H serves approximately 200 youth in organized 4-H clubs every year. Clubs in the county range from crafts, community service, science, livestock, and cooking. There are also a variety of short-term programs each year such as: Escape Room Design, Spa and Relaxation, Winter Adventure, day camps, and more.

Due to the fact we are a small county, we don't have a lot of opportunity or person-power for a large-scale fundraising campaign. There is a 4-H Council that supports scholarships for youth to attend events, but their main goal is not to fund 4-H programs. This CrowdPower campaign will fund supplies, materials, and start-up costs needed for both new and existing 4-H clubs.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

Due to the overwhelming support and generosity of donors, we have surpassed our original $3,500 goal. Thank you to everyone who made this happen! Funds already raised have supported the creation of the new Ojibwa Crafts and Culture Club, the Mental Health 101 Club, and the 4-H Soccer for Success Club. Because of the incredible generosity of 4-H supporters, we are raising our goal to $5,000. Additional funds will allow for the creation of even more clubs across the country, and allow our new clubs created through this CrowdPower campaign to operate and educate community youth for the next year.

This money will also be used to travel in the county to the outlying areas that have often been neglected due to distance. Alger County is a long, narrow county, and Grand Marais historically has not had programming due to its location. This will allow programming access to Grand Marais to become more robust.
