Donor Support for Emergency Funds Have a Positive Impact on Student Success
March 16, 2023Allison Shaw, Ph.D., assistant director for student success, tells us that it is a privilege to be able to work on behalf of Michigan State University students to ensure their success and help to problem-solve when unexpected events occur in their lives.
Emergency funds can help me do that and can be the difference between whether or not a student is able to continue their education.
“Many of our students have faced diversity for their whole lives and they don't have a community or a support system to turn to in an emergency,” she said. The emergency funds within a college can be a source of support and demonstrate that the greater Spartan community is there to help when it’s needed most.
