On Dec. 1, MSU united to celebrate #GivingTuesday. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement and philanthropy activation and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. We encouraged Spartans on this day of giving to collectivity support the essential needs of students and our campus partners.

This #GivingTuesday, Spartan donors from 45 states and 12 international locations made a tremendous difference in the lives of MSU students and the entire spartan community. More than $382,000 was generated from 1,924 donations to support some of the following campus initiatives:

  • Women’s Leadership Institute
  • Support Our Spartans Emergency Fund
  • MSU Student Food Bank
  • Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities
  • Diversity Research Network
  • James Madison College Human Rights Lab

Every day here at MSU, our students, faculty and staff work to tackle some of the world's biggest challenges. Support from our Spartan donors helps strengthen this work by enhancing life changing scholarships and support resources for students, empowering diverse campus voices and expanding important campus initiatives. Their gifts are so important, and we cannot thank them enough.

- Kathleen Deneau, Senior Director of Annual Giving

Although #GivingTuesday may be over, generous Spartans around the world support these initiatives every day. Visit our MSU CrowdPower page to find projects you would like to support and follow the steps to complete your gift. Gifts to any of the causes will greatly impact the lives of MSU students and members of the larger MSU community.
