Emergency Fund Keeps Spartans on Track
On Give Green Day, support emergency fund scholarships for students in need.
March 7, 2022Financial hardship can affect anyone—no student is immune to crisis. As life returns closer to “normal,” Spartan students are still facing unprecedented times.
Which is why supporting emergency funds at MSU is so important. They offer a lifeline to students who face unexpected financial issues and allow them to stay on track.
"Without the scholarship I was given by the Honors College, I would not have been able to attend my freshman year at MSU and discover my passion for endocrinology,” said Natalie B., an Honors College student who received funding. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend college here, and it wouldn't have been possible without the support I've received."
The Honors College is one of many units (like the College of Osteopathic Medicine, as seen in the above video) asking for gifts to their emergency assistance fund on Give Green Day. The Honors College Student Emergency Fund “assists students facing a serious financial hardship, providing the resources they need to continue pursuing their dreams.” Gifts to the fund go directly to the students who need a hand because of an unforeseen circumstance, helping them get back on track.
On Give Green Day, we are asking those who can to support an emergency fund to help a student in need.
The following colleges and programs are using Give Green Day to focus on emergency scholarship funds:
-
Agriculture and Natural Resrouces Whole Student Success Fund
-
Office of Philanthropy for Undergraduate Education Student Emergency Assistance Fund
