Annual support for the RicStar Music Therapy Camp helps individuals with disabilities express themselves through music

Hundreds of individuals with disabilities attend the Eric ‘RicStar’ Winter Music Therapy Camp at the MSU Community Music School each year—and that’s because donors like you help spread the word.

Your gifts, which totaled more than $39,000 this year, support outreach efforts by the Community Music School to ensure that anybody who wants to express themselves through music and enjoy the benefits of music therapy has the opportunity to do so—in an inclusive environment where all abilities are celebrated.

The program carries on the legacy of a young musician gone too soon—Eric ‘RicStar’ Winter, an aspiring rockstar and music therapy client at the Community Music School, who had cerebral palsy and dreamed of having a music therapy camp for other people with special needs.

His parents, Dick and Judy, and music therapist Cindy Edgerton started the camp in 2003 in his memory. Since then, thanks to their dedication and your annual support, thousands of people, of all ages and abilities, have had their lives enriched and forever changed through music.
