Breaking Barriers: A Mission to Help

The faculty of Michigan State has an enormous impact on the university, the state and the world through their research, teaching and service. These faculty members are changemakers. Tamara Reid Bush, Ph.D. is one such faculty member in the College of Engineering.

“As researchers, we like to be creative and innovative, and do things that other people haven't done before,” said Dr. Reid Bush. Through this innovative research and a high-impact learning environment, she is helping to close opportunity gaps and support student success. "One of the most rewarding aspects of being a professor is seeing your students mature over time and become Ph.D. students, or graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering as undergraduates. By nurturing the next generation of thinkers, we can transform fields of study and achieve equity in high-demand occupations such as engineering.”
