Time and time again, research shows that young people who are engaged in the arts achieve more in school and become involved in their communities. Wharton Center is dedicated to making the performing arts accessible to audiences and students of all ages and economic means.
Through the Act One School Series, shows produced by nationally touring youth theatre companies bring characters from history and literature to life in one-hour school-day matinees. Selected shows provide a perfect opportunity to introduce students to cultural music, dance and theatre artists from around the world.
