Michigan State chapter of the Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM)
MSU AWSM, through the MSU School of Journalism, seeks help to raise funds for our members to attend the National AWSM convention in Denver; receive the national Chapter of the Year award; and network, grow and learn from the four-day convention. MSU AWSM was selected as the 2022 Chapter of Year, over the 19 other AWSM college chapters. The Chapter of the Year is given to the group best representing AWSM and its mission to empower women in the sports industry. MSU AWSM is honored to receive this award and is looking forward to being recognized.
We need financial help for airfare, lodging, and registration. Since we are an official MSU student club, we function off pure donations and self-fundraising. We hope to show a strong presence at the AWSM Convention in order to help boost our chapter and members for years to come.

We are a self-funded organization, and your gift would be used to send our members to the 2022 National convention. Money will be used to for airfare, registration, lodging for our AWSM members. Your donation will help at least six members of AWSM MSU be recognized as the Chapter of the Year award recipients.
Who We Are
The Association for Women in Sports Media is an national, 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Michigan State is one of 19 student chapters that supports and advocates for females in the sports industry. During the school year, AWSM is a place for MSU students to network and interact with professionals in the sports media field.
AWSM promotes diversity and inclusion in sports media, leadership, and professional skills through a plethora of activities and opportunities throughout the duration of the school year. We strive to make our AWSM - awesome. Our incoming executive council is led by President Bella Gorisek and Vice-President Annie Heeder. Bella and Annie are seniors studying Sports Journalism and they both hope to gain insight from professionals in the sports media industry. These leaders represent our chapter which consists of 50 members across different ages, and majors at MSU.
