Barry County Goat Barn Memorial Brick Walkway

The Goat Developmental Committee Brick fundraiser is still ongoing and is accepting donations, however, donors will no longer be able to receive an engraved brick for a gift starting October 21st, 2024. The committee plans to send all the remaining bricks to be engraved and will no longer be sending any more to be engraved after next week.

For generations, Barry 4-H has been a cornerstone of our community, enriching the lives of countless youth and families. With deep roots stretching back many decades, our program has cultivated a tradition of growth, learning and community spirit. As we debark on the 2023-2024 season, were excited to share that Barry 4-H continues to thrive with over 200 dedicated volunteers and over 900 enthusiastic youth members actively participating.

4-H is a dynamic youth development program that empowers young people through hands-on, project-based learning. Youth can choose to work with animals as their project. Currently, there are 118 members who work with goats as their project. Throughout the year and during Barry County Fair the barn is used by all youth who have goats. The goat barn floor is all dirt and gravel creating problems for 4-H members. Help us provide a safer environment for our participants by redoing the barn flooring.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

The addition of a brick walkway creates a well-maintained floor that is essential for preventing injuries to animals and youth. For the 4-H kids, a repaved barn enhances their learning experience by providing a cleaner, safer and more organized workspace fostering their growth and responsibility in animal care. A properly paved barn can improve the overall hygiene of the facility, reducing the risk of disease and creating a more pleasant environment for the animals and the young caretakers.

Additionally, bricks can be engraved with wording of your choice! This gives the perfect opportunity for memorial pieces and donor recognition.

Your support will help us build a better future for both our goats and our community.
