College of Music Pavilion
On June 27, 2018, the College of Music held a construction announcement event, and the next day construction began on the $35 million facilities project that includes a new 35,000-square-foot Music Pavilion and 8,500 square feet of renovated space.
The new pavilion will increase the net square footage of the Music complex by 40 percent.
The university will provide 50 percent of the cost of the proposed $35 million+ project. The college will proceed with additional fundraising efforts for the remaining $2.7 million in gifts still needed to fund the project in full. At the MSU Board of Trustees meeting on Friday, April 13, 2018, the board voted their "approval to proceed" for this facilities project. On Wednesday, June 27, Interim President Engler gave the “green light” to immediately begin construction.
Join us for the Music Pavilion groundbreaking event on Friday, October 19, at 10 a.m. on Adams Field, adjacent to the construction site! Learn more about the Music Pavilion campaign and see live coverage of the building's construction here.
