Scholarly publishing is as challenging today as it is important to any higher education institution. The Michigan State University Press publishing program represents a focused, yet diverse approach to both academic and broader-interest publishing. As we proudly begin our 61st year of service to the University's global community, we invite you to join in the effort to advance knowledge and support the dissemination of information through our publishing programs. Your contribution will make a critical difference in promoting scholarship, research, education, and culture wherever MSU Press initiatives may reach.
MSU Press offers a distinguished list of peer-reviewed titles by national and international, world-renowned scholars who represent the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Our award-winning books and journals programs represent cutting-edge scholarship on a continuum from established areas of study to emerging fields. A healthy, thriving university press enhances the prestige and profile of its home institution. By contributing to MSU Press, you can make a difference!

Our books and journals have won national & international awards, such as:
Our books program has longevity and merit. Three examples of our nationally recognized, prestigious areas are poetry, American Indian Studies, and rhetoric and public affairs. Our poetry program, established a decade ago, represents many poetic voices: pastoral, personal, new and old. Our American Indian Studies series, also 10 years old, publishes tribal histories, literary criticism, literature, and studies in various fields. It is also the only Native American series in the country to have an all-Native American editorial board. Our rhetoric and public affairs series is acknowledged as the best in the country.
Our Book Series:
The MSU Press scholarly and literary journals program represents a range of academic endeavors and disciplines such as American Studies, literature, French Colonial history, Italian culture, African studies, rhetoric, mathematics, radicalism, violence and culture, and creative literary nonfiction.
The Red Cedar Review is a unique example of a successful educational model of collaboration. Now in its 43rd year and the oldest undergraduate-produced literary publication of its kind in the nation, RCR demonstrates how a campus literary community can benefit from the mentoring and practical experience derived from on-the-job training at MSU Press.
The Journals Division serves as a training ground for aspiring publishing professionals by offering hands-on skill development to students at every level, who have an opportunity to work with all of our journals. We're very proud that our highly qualified graduates are regularly recruited by top-flight industry leaders. To support Red Cedar Review or other MSU Press journals, visit journals.
To support and promote access to MSU Press journal content, the Press offers content online at journals and participates in Project MUSE, a Johns Hopkins University initiative that provides online institutional access to leading scholarly publications in the arts, humanities, and social sciences at muse as well as in Project Euclid, a Cornell-Duke University initiative developed to advance scholarly communication in the field of theoretical and applied mathematics and statistics, that addresses the unique needs of low-cost independent and society journals at projecteuclid.
