Michigan State University Museum
Kurt Dewhurst, Director

The MSU Museum's mission is committed to understanding, interpreting, and respecting natural and cultural diversity. Reflecting the philosophy of a land-grant institution, this commitment to society is met through education, exhibitions, research, and the building and stewardship of collections focusing on Michigan and its relationship to the Great Lakes and the world beyond.

Founded in 1857, the MSU Museum is one of the oldest museums on a Midwest college campus. As a community resource for the Mid-Michigan area, curatorial staff and specialists are involved in wide ranging international research and programs. More than 2.5 million objects and specimens are in MSU Museum collections, while research and program activities produce new knowledge, add to collections, generate exhibitions, and result in programs and technical assistance.

Your financial gifts have played an important part in the university's philanthropic tradition. We hope you will continue that support by considering a gift to the MSU Museum.
