This year the senior class of 2017 has taken a new direction in terms of giving back to our community at Michigan State. Instead of a traditional senior gift we have chosen to launch a campaign that focuses on raising funds for important resources and organizations that support our campus community.
This year’s Senior Class Council chose to direct our efforts towards the ongoing issue of sexual assault and domestic violence. MSU Safe Place is an organization that works tirelessly to aid victims of domestic abuse, stalking, and sexual assault. Any contribution made to this CrowdPower will support Safe Place in their advocacy efforts.
Relationship violence and sexual assault are ongoing issues both on Michigan State’s campus and in our Greater Lansing community. It can often be difficult, both emotionally and financially, for victims in these circumstances to escape dangerous environments and seek help. This is why institutions like Safe Place are so important to have available. MSU Safe Place relies on support from individuals, such as yourself and community organizations, to meet the needs of the survivors they serve.
Our $500 goal will aid Safe Place in providing countless resources to Spartans like legal aid, a safe-haven shelter, survival necessities, and much more. Any contributions made will help fulfill the needs of these victims and their families.
We are your Michigan State Senior Class Council. We are a student organization through ASMSU that works to represent the interests of the senior class and give back to our Spartan community.
