By making a donation, you actually will DOUBLE your impact! The College of Nursing Student Advisory Council (SAC) has committed to match our goal with their donation of $1,000, which provides funding for two students to attend summer camp!
Thank you to the SAC for their support of this campaign, it is wonderful to see our students building a culture of philanthropy and paying it forward in support of future nurses.
The Future Nurses Club Summer Camp serves to ignite the possibility of a career in nursing for educationally and economically vulnerable high school students. This one-week residential camp is held each summer on Michigan State University’s campus. High school students live in a residential hall with mentors and participate in activities such as Heartsaver First Aid training (completing certification).
During the week students:
The camp opens doors for students who otherwise may not consider a career as a nurse.
Our goal is to raise $1,000 to send a high school student to the Future Nurses Club Summer Camp. Your support will afford a student the chance to experience Michigan State University and learn about all of the wonderful opportunities a college campus has to offer. For many of these students, this will be their first time on a college campus and their only chance to attend a summer camp. These students become a community as they develop learning and life skills while making new friends. The Future Nurses Club Summer Camp serves to ignite the possibility of higher education and to show students what nursing is truly all about!
