Girls Rock Detroit Summer Camp 2015

Thanks to everyone who supported the project. The project is now closed. Any additional gifts will go towards the College of Music.

The MSU Community Music School-Detroit will host the inaugural Girls Rock Detroit summer music camp July 13-17, 2015.

Girls Rock Detroit Summer Camp Performer

This week-long summer camp for girls and female-identifying youth ages 8 to 14, takes place on Woodward Avenue in Midtown at the MSU Detroit Center. The campers, many of whom have no formal musical experience, will receive instrumental instruction, form bands and write and practice their own original songs over the course of the week.

We Need Your Help

We hope to raise $2,500 in tuition assistance so that we may provide access to musical equipment and instruction for campers with demonstrated financial need regardless of their socio-economic background.

Who Is Girls Rock Detroit?

Girls Rock Detroit was formed in September of 2014 by a group of women from metro Detroit. We are an LGBTQ-friendly organization and strive to provide a safe, visible atmosphere for all.
