GATE Gives Back

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) at Michigan State University provides educational experiences that allow gifted students to develop intellectually, to cultivate social relationships, and to expand their understanding of the world.

Our twice accelerated academic year programs allow students to complete all four years of high school curriculum in two years. Upon completion of the program students can pursue other advance courses at their home school, AP courses, or dual enrollment. Our summer programs provide above grade level enrichment to students in grades 3-10.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

Many underserved districts have gifted students who do not have access to testing or evaluation. These students often struggle academically because they do not receive the proper challenges in the classroom.

By giving today, you will help the GATE office to expand outreach to underserved communities. Your support will help identify gifted students via cognitive testing and provide tuition support for qualifying families in need. These families would otherwise not be identified as gifted or have access to program such as these.

Project Budget

Funds raised would provide cognitive testing and/or program tuition for students in need. This allows gifted students in underserved communities to be appropriately challenged and an opportunity to supplement their academic record.

  • A $75 donation will provide an application fee
  • A $90 donation will provide testing
  • A $350-$895 donation provides tuition for a summer attendee
  • A $1590 donation provides 1 year of academic programming for a student
