Uniting to Grow the Forest Climate Solution

Help MSU play a critical role to accelerate the forest climate solution.

The Forest Carbon and Climate Program (FCCP) is a unique, independent and science-driven academic program within MSU Forestry Department that aims to maximize forests’ contributions to climate solutions. We do this by utilizing tools which improve knowledge transfer and capacity building in forest, carbon and climate topics. This knowledge gives private sector investors the confidence to provide financing that enables and accelerates forest climate action. It also gives companies and landowners the confidence to pursue forest-based climate solving activities and projects. Together, we enable the resources and knowledge needed to implement forestry practices that help solve climate change.

Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

By supporting FCCP, you enable us to advocate for solutions that not only address climate change but also protect forest ecosystems benefiting people and nature. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, FCCP not only disseminates vital information but also cultivates a collective consciousness around the vital role of forests in our global climate strategy. By investing in FCCP, together we can catalyze change, empower stakeholders, and pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient future for generations to come.

Project Budget

Donations to FCCP will support enhanced program activities allowing us to scale our contributions for forests as a natural climate change solution. These activities, shaping policy and practice, may include:

  • Providing educational courses and workshops.
  • Synthesizing and summarizing emerging science in carbon management.
  • Connecting with policy and landowners to implement carbon removal and reduction activities in forests.
  • Providing scholarships for our courses, allowing smaller landowners and indigenous peoples in the Global South access to first-class resources and education.

Who We Are

Our team includes researchers, policy experts, data modelers, communicators, and designers all working together to grow forests as the climate solution and provide accessible information for all.
