Description:

Wharton Center for Performing Arts, located on the campus of Michigan State University, is the largest performing arts center in the state. International artists and attractions grace the stages each season, presenting the full array of performing arts including classical music, dance, jazz, pop artists, full week equity touring Broadway productions and education programs. The Center is also the primary venue to the MSU College of Music, Department of Theatre and the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. 

The Assistant Director of Development at Wharton Center will: assist with the planning and implementing of a comprehensive fund raising program; manage the annual fund campaigns; identify, solicit and evaluate foundation and corporate gifts; participate in special gifts program; coordinate special events; and assist in the management of the Center’s volunteers.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in an arts related field, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Business; three years experience in professional fund raising, public relations, marketing, higher education fund raising or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; thorough knowledge of database management; and grant writing experience preferred.
